James Hulsey 1968

Army Private First Class James A. Hulsey, 21, was killed in action in Vietnam April 13, 1970 when the military aircraft in which he was riding as door gunner, crashed into a river for unknown reasons.
Private Hulsey, who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Odis Hulsey, 135 Conrad, had been in Vietnam four months and had volunteered into the service two years ago after attending Palestine High School. First word of his death was received Friday by his parents.
A military funeral will be held in Kilgore under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Time and date are pending.
Private Hulsey is survived by his parents, a daughter, Diedra Kay Hulsey; a sister, Teresa Kay Hulsey, his paternal grandmother, and an aunt.

As a member of the Army, PFC Hulsey served our country until April 13th, 1970 in Kien Tuong, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old. James died when his helicopter crashed into the land. His body was recovered. James was born on March 18th, 1949 in Palestine, Texas.
PFC Hulsey is on panel 12W, line 132 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.
