Services for Rachel Louise Jobe, 72, of Palestine were at 11 am today at Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home with Dr. Butch Lockard officiating. Burial followed at Palestine City Cemetery. Mrs. Jobe died Saturday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born April 4, 1937, in Cayuga to Archie and Mary Winters Bailey.
Mrs. Jobe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a secretary in Fort Worth and also for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Gurney Unit for five years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl Jobe; and sister Dorothy Eddy.
Mrs. Jobe is survived by her brother, Roy Bailey of Longview; three sisters, Lois Gaddis of Palestine, Mary Hodge of Lake Palestine and Lou Sharp of Irving; niece, Sherry Commander and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Chad Commander, David Sharp, Brian Bailey, Michael Parker, Clint Stuart and Michael Eddy.
