She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George H. Bruce, her daughter, Ann Wendland and husband Mike, her daughter Kathie Bruce, four grandchildren: Kate Feuge and husband Ryan, Keith Wendland and wife Brandy, Austin Bruce, and Kelly Wendland; one great-granddaughter Avery Wendland, a niece, nephews, cousins, and sisters in law.

Mrs. Bruce grew up in Palestine TX, and graduated from Baylor University with a BBA degree. At Baylor she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. On graduation day she was hired by Humble Oil & Refining Co. where she met her husband. She was a long time active member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church, participating in the WIN Program counting collection money, teaching, and other activities. She was a member of the HBU Guild in support of the University as well as a donor to Baylor U. Mrs. Bruce liked to travel and joined her husband on business and pleasure trips to many parts of the world. Kay will be remembered by family, dear friends from her church, bridge club, beauty salon, and elsewhere.

A funeral service will be held at Willow Meadows Baptist Church, 4300 W Belfort, Houston, TX 77035 on Thursday, October 28th, 2010.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 with the service at 2:00pm. There will be a reception from 3:00 4:00 PM at the church, with a private family interment afterwards.
