Services for Michael Mitchell, 69, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kent Fryman officiating.A private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Joinerville under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in Tyler.He was born July 28, 1942, in Palestine to O.H. and Francis Cole Mitchell. He was a member of the Episcopal faith.  Mr. Mitchell was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University class of 1966. He was a banker and worked for Stone Fort National Bank from 1976 to 1987.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Mitchell.

Michael is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 23 years, Jan Mitchell; children, Joel Wood and wife Susan of Whitehouse, Phillip Wood and wife Autumn of Huntington, Michele Jones and Meridith Garcia and husband Matt of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Wyatt, Walker, Cooper, Hunter, Chea, Zoe, Ava and Danny; and his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Rusty.

Pallbearers will be Keith Taack, Matthew Torbert, Ron Collins, Curtis Sparks, Justin Armstrong and Todd Tutt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leadership Tyler Class 24.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler.
