Graveside services for Kathryne Virginia Liles, 92, of Ben Wheeler and formerly of Palestine, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Air in Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Willhite officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Liles died Wednesday at her residence.  She was born July 23, 1919 in Palestine to Carl and Pearl Land Hiser.

After marrying Samuel Liles in 1941, they lived in San Francisco, Miami, and settled in Dallas in 1948.  She co-founded the Midway Hills Christian Church in Dallas. In 1969 they moved to Palestine and started a John Deere Tractor Company. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Palestine.

Mrs. Liles was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel in 1995; and two sisters, Arlyie and Clo.

She is survived by three sons, Phillip Liles and wife Darlene of Ben Wheeler, Robert Liles of Gun Barrel City, and Chris Liles of Stuttgart, Germany; six grandchildren, Dena, Michael, Timothy, Amber, Crystal, and Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
