Services for Mary Kate Lipsey Derrington age 96, of Palestine will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Bro. David Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Mrs. Derrington died Thursday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1914 in Oakwood to Murvil Ray and Kitty Bacon Lipsey. Mrs. Derrington was the secretary of the First Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Harvey Woman’s Club. Mrs. Derrington was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Felix William Derrington in 1991, and a daughter Sara Derrington in 2005.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mike and V.J. Derrington of Conroe, three grandchildren, DeAnn Kennedy Sears of Skaneateles, N.Y., John Michael Kennedy of Katy, Brent Benson Boswell of Willis, and eight great grandchildren.

Condolence calls will be received from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday before the service at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
