Verl Burnaugh, 70, of Grand Prairie went home to Jesus early Saturday morning, May 15, 2010 following a short illness. Verl was born December 16, 1939 in Shamrock, Texas. He worked as a salesman in the entertainment vending machine industry and retired in 2003. Verl was truly a good and faithful servant of the Lord and was incredibly generous with his time, talents, and resources as he served Jesus by serving others.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Burnaugh; sister, Evalyn Williams; daughter, Rhnea Cantrell; stepsons Mike Holmes (Dee); Marty Holmes (Deanne); John Vernon; nieces, Nancy Rogers and Diann Steele; nephews, Jeff Burnaugh (Brooke), Ted Williams (Ruth); grandchildren Sara and Benjamin Vernon, Hillary, Marshall and Hannah Holmes, and Wesley and Mason Holmes; and several grandnieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10am Tuesday, May 18 at The Woods United Methodist Church, 1350 W. Bardin Road, Grand Prairie, 75052, Rev. Jill Jackson-Sears officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, May 17 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Woods United Methodist Church.
