Services for Tommie Ed Elliot, 54, of Conroe and formerly of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Conroe with Dr. Milton Magnesis and the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, under the direction of Cashner Funeral Home of Conroe.
Mr. Elliot died Friday in Conroe. He was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Waco, to Thomas and Della Elliot. He grew up in Palestine and was a graduate of Palestine High School. Mr. Elliot was a certified public accountant and was employed as the chief financial officer of Courtney Enterprises and Tipco, Inc., in Houston. He was a member of the Texas Society of National Public Accountants. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in May 1962.
Mr. Elliot was an artillery officer in the Army from 1963 to 1965. He flew HU1B helicopters in the Vietnam War from Nov. 27, 1964, to Nov. 27, 1965. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Air Medal with 23 oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He also was an active amateur radio operator, held an extra class license and worked locations around the world. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Elliot of Conroe; daughters, Lisa Vader of Athens and Karen Carter of Conroe; son, Vincent Elliot of Austin; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Trent Elliot, Aaron Vader, Joel Carter, Adam Stichler, Jeffery Stichler, David Stichler, Jason Washburn
