Martha Ann Fagan Mosley 1958

Martha Ann Mosley, 70, of Huntsville, went to join her Lord on June 19, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born April 4, 1940 in Palestine, Texas to W.L. “Bill” and Elizabeth Fagan.
Martha is survived by her devoted husband of 50 1?2 years, Art Mosley and was a devoted mother to three daughters, Cynthia Carnes and husband Walter of San Antonio, Texas, Melissa Blanco and husband Martin of Sugarland, Texas, and Rebecca Fisher and husband Jeff of Rockdale, Texas. She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Amber Shalchi and husband Daniel of Ft. Knox, Kentucky; Christopher and Will Blanco, Mattie Jane Fisher and Madison Shalchi.
Martha is also survived by one sister, Mary Jane Banister and husband Paul of Amarillo, Texas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her older sister, Betty Carol Cooke of Diboll, Texas.
Martha graduated from Palestine High School, Palestine, Texas in 1958. She and Art were married in 1959. After Art graduated from Sam Houston State University the couple spent 22 years in the U.S. Army and 20 years with TDCJ. During that time, Martha served as a full-time mom, did extensive volunteer work, served as a Girl Scout leader and taught pre-school. Upon moving to Huntsville in 1984 Martha worked for TDCJ and Huntsville ISD. She retired from Huntsville ISD in 2003.
Martha was very caring and loving toward people. She enjoyed her get-togethers with her “school bunch”, her bridge group and her Palestine High School classmates. She will be remembered fondly by all her family and friends as a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandparent.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Huntsville, Texas. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas for family and friends.
