She married Ray Pierson Nov. 1, 1972. This marriage brought much happiness to them both and to their many friends and family from all over this nation. Marie will be remembered as an ambitious, get it done, do it now and do it right person.

Her husband, Ray Pierson of Odessa, and two brothers, Vernon Johns and his wife, Billie, of St. Louis, Mo., and Bruce Johns and his wife, Debbie, of Clinton, Mont., survive her. She is also survived by five children and their spouses, Larry and Sherry Pierson of Lubbock, Linda Faulconer of Vinita, Okla., Peggy and Tom Greiner of Stillwater, Okla., Tom and Kay Dykes of Dallas and Terry and Penny Pierson of The Colony. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive her.

She and her husband are members of the Sherwood Church of Christ in Odessa.

Marie was involved in numerous organizations and actively participated in them all. She and Ray have been blessed with many friends. Both friends and family will miss her spirit of involvement and her willingness to help others.

She was a member of the Confederate Air Force for many years, serving the organization in many capacities. She had been very involved with the West Texas Wing, the Desert Squadron and the B-29/B-24 Squadron.

Marie had a deep interest in genealogy. She was instrumental in organizing the Ann Burton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists, as the charter regent.

Other organizations include Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, Permian Basin Genealogy Society, Juliet Fine Arts Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Beta Sigma Phi.

Marie deeply loved her family, and the Lord provided her many blessings from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The joy they shared was a blessing from God.
