Memorial services for Amy Lee Schmidt, 70, of Palestine, will be at First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Bruce Hay officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.

Ms. Schmidt died Thursday at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler, Texas.

She was born Aug. 21, 1940 in Birmingham, Ala. to Alvin and Dora Schmidt. She was a member of the Community Bible Church in San Antonio. She also was a member of D.A.R., Scottish Heritage, Altwasa, Harvey Womens Club and a graduate of Sam Houston University.

Ms. Schmidt was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Madden; her aunt, Ann Perkins; three nieces, Melanie Fording and her husband Mike, Melissa Wayne and Mindy Starr and her husband Lee; grand nieces, Tara and Destiny Fording, Emily and Mahli McKay and Claire Starr; grand nephews, Taylor and Devin Fording and Judah McKay.

Visitations will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church.
