Services for Shirley Crutchfield Mallard age 78, of Palestine will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Lynn Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Mallard died Tuesday at the David E. Foster Hospice Unit at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born July 24, 1931 in Marshall to D.C. and Aree Hazelip Crutchfield. Mrs. Mallard was retired from Palestine Independent School District. Mrs. Mallard was preceded in death by her parents, brothers D.C. Crutchfield, Jr., James Crutchfield and a sister Louise Smith.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Ralph W. Mallard of Palestine, daughter Rebecca Hibbard and husband Robert of Quitman, son Michael Wayne Mallard and wife Sally of North Zulch and daughter Patricia Bowling and husband Michael of Tennessee Colony, grandchildren Courtney Ellison and Keith, Clayton Jones and Nancy, Emily Boyd and Jason, Lex Anne Royle and Ricky, great grandchildren, Erika Hughes, Taylor Hughes, Brian Royle, Caleb Royle, and Addison Royle, one great grandchild Ashlyn Beasley.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bowling, Robert Hibbard, Clayton Jones, Taylor Hughes, Jason Boyd, and Ricky Royle.

Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine
