Thomas Wilbur “Tom” Fryar, 79, of Odessa passed away January 3, 2011 at Hospice House.
He was born January 18, 1931 to James D. Fryar and Donna Louise Miles in Anderson County Texas.
He graduated from Palestine High School in 1948. He attended East Texas State and Southwestern State School of Pharmacy. In 2007, he received an Achievement Award from the State of Texas for 50 years as a Pharmacist. Tom work for Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals for 43 years
Tom was a member of the West Texas Wing Commemorative Air Force and was a two time past Commander of the Desert Squadron, he held many positions at the American Legion, he was a member of the Confederate Air Force and a member of the Patriot Guard. He was a pilot and 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his parents, and a brother Bobby Fryar.
He is survived by a brother, James Fryar and wife Lavonne of Garland, Texas, sister, Shirley Bolt of Lufkin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his pets, Shadow and Abby.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brad Bennett officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Holly Springs Cemetery in Montalba, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bolt, Eric Bolt, Tracy Bolt, Steve Bolt, Thomas Baugh, and Ray Owens.
Donations may be made to Hospice House or American Legion.
