Services for Martha Anne Woolverton, 63, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jeff Cover officiating. Burial will be at Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Miss Woolverton died Monday at Diagnostic Hospital in Houston.

She was born in Palestine on June 23, 1930, to N.C. and Jettie Seagler Woolverton. She was formerly employed by the Prudential Insurance Co.

Miss Woolverton was an elder of First Presbyterian Church in Palestine, a charter member of Harvey Woman’s Club, and a member of the Literary Forum of Palestine, Dogwood Garden Club and American Red Cross.

She attended Mary Baldwin College and was a 1951 graduate of The Universtity of Texas at Austin.

She is survived by her brother, N.C. Woolverton Jr. of Palestine; uncle, Alton W. Woolverton of Tennessee Colony; and aunts, Mattie Ila Carroll, Betty W. Woolverton, Winnie Frank Woolverton and Lucile H. Woolverton, all of Tennessee Colony.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Joyce, Jim Bob Paxton, Dell Griffin, Ted Maffitt, Jim Wright, Billy Gragg, Steve Presley, Robert S. Miller, Jackson Hanks, Melvin Whitaker, David Scoggin, Lester L. Hoaglin and Jack Steel. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, the Presbyterian Children’s Home or a charity of doner’s choice.
