Bill Hoyler of Youngsville, La. passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, La. after a year-long battle with cancer.

Mr. Hoyler was born April 29, 1928, in Longview, Texas and was reared in Palestine, Texas. Upon graduation from Palestine High School, he joined the United States Navy in 1945 during World War II where he served as an electronics technician.

After completing his naval service and several years of work in Canada, he returned home to attend Texas A&M University. After earning his degree and getting married to Frances Ann Kibler, they moved to South Louisiana where he pursued a career in the oilfield.

Mr. Hoyler is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ann; and is survived by his sons, Charles Hoyler of College Station, Texas, and Bass Hoyler and wife, Carolyn, of Rincon, Ga.; two sisters, Peggy Egger and husband, Ken, of Huntsville, Texas; and Patsy Teems; and husband, Terry, of Athens, Texas; and two granddaughters, Casey and Carly.

Memorial services will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Hoyler’s name to the American Cancer Society.
