Joy M. DuPree Funderburk, 81, a loving wife, mother and “Mema” went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Service: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 317 W. Ellison St., Burleson, Texas. Interment: 3 p.m. Friday in Roselawn Park, Palestine. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Burleson.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mema’s great-grandaughter, Ryleigh and other special needs “little loves” at: The Goldman School at The Arc of Caddo-Bossier, 351 Jordan Street, Shreveport, LA 71101, (318-221-8392).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, H.E. “Skeet” Funderburk.

Survivors: son, Kerry Funderburk and wife, Julia of Austin; daughters, Lynn Arledge and husband Bobby, and Judy Shinn, all of Burleson; son, David Funderburk and wife, Susan, of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Bobby G. DuPree of Huntsville.
