Services for Barry W. Beard, 42, of Tyler, and formerly of Palestine, were today at Olive Branch Cemetery in Anderson County with the Rev. Jack Cox officiating. Burial was under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mr. Beard died Monday at his residence after a brief illness.

Mr. Beard was born August 4, 1945 in Palestine, and had lived in Tyler for nine years. He was a former employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

Survivors include his sons, Robert A. Beard and Ronald C. Beard, both of Whitehouse; mother, Mrs. F.O. Beard of Palestine; and a sister, Janis Beard of Austin.
