Constance Eileen Moore Smith, 63, passed away on February 21, 2008 at her residence in Palestine after a long period of illness.  Ms. Smith was born Nov. 23, 1944 in Houston to Eddie Doyle and Johnnie Dell Blue Moore.

She was a graduate of Palestine High School. She also graduated from secretarial and business schools, and worked in the District Clerk’s Office in Galveston, Texas and held several other jobs. She was baptized at the First Methodist Church of Palestine. She had a generous heart and attended to others’ needs in the Christian tradition.

Connie Moore Smith is survived by her daughter, Debra Hubka of Moundville, Ala. and her grandson Joseph Anthony Hubka III, who also resides in Alabama; her brothers, Robert M. Moore of Galveston and Eddie D. Moore Jr. of Frankston; and her nieces and nephews, Janis Walker of Tyler, David Moore of Pasadena, Kelly Chapman of Houston and Hayley Frink of Spring.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at the Mount Comfort Cemetery in Maydelle, Texas, by Bailey and Foster Funeral Home at 207 S. Magnolia St., Palestine.The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Methodist Church in Palestine to be used in any of their charitable programs.
