Funeral services for Will W. Johnson, 50, of Palestine, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Palestine with Dr. William Newcomb officiating. Burial will be at New Addition Annex. Arrangements are under the direct of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson died Sunday afternoon September 18, 1994 in northern Anderson County.
He was born March 1, 1944 in Palestine to Willard Wilton Johnson Sr. and Frances Taylor Johnson.
He was an insurance adjuster. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1962 and received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University in 1966 and his master’s degree in 1967.
Mr. Johnson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Palestine, where he had served as chairman of the Board of Trustees and chairman of the Administrative Board. He also was past president of the Palestine Chamber of Commerce and the Community Concerts Association. He was owner of Independent Lumber Company until 1988. He was a director of Royall National Bank.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Earle Johnson of Palestine; and two daughters, Sarah Allison Johnson and Julie Taylor Johnson, both of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Fredrick Felder, Bob McKelvey, David E. Foster, Phil Jenkins, C.L. Kolstad III, John Peavey III, Stewart Kenderdine, Hartley Young and Randolph Young.
