Services for Gerald Watts, 65, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Holcombe and the Rev. Lynn Stroud officiating. Burial will be in the Tennessee Colony Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Watts died Sunday at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler. He was born February 8, 1942 in Fort Worth to George Watts and Cleo Belt Watts.

Mr. Watts was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. He had been a railroad conductor for Union-Pacific Railroad. He was also a former officer of United Transportation Union.

Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Fran Watts of Palestine; mother Cleo Watts of Tennessee Colony; daughters: Kerri Alexander and husband Ben of Flint and Kelli Gunnels and husband Greg of Palestine; son, Kevin Watts of Palestine; sisters: Judy Rawls and husband Ronnie of Mesquite and Betsy Smith and husband Gary of Palestine; brothers: Bill Watts and wife Linda of Tennessee Colony and John Watts of Tennessee Colony; seven grandchildren: Tiffany, Ashley, Luke, Tanner, Kade and Logan Watts and Elizabeth Alexander.

Pallbearers will be nephews: Bob Rawls, Randy Watts, Alex Smith, Sterling Green, Coulter Green, Carson Rawls and Chase Walker.

Condolence calls will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 4101 University Blvd., Tyler 75701.
