Services for Dianne Stewart Gaines, 59, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Dr. Jerry Elrod officiating.

Mrs. Gaines died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1943, in Sequin to Raymond Stewart and Louise Walker Stewart.

Mrs. Gaines had lived in Palestine most of her life and was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. She was a 1961 graduate of Palestine High School. She owned and operated Stewart Flower Shoppe for more than twenty years. She was active with the Trailblazer organization that raises money for the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg “G.L.” Gaines, in 1999; and brothers, Carmon Stewart and Maurice Stewart.

Mrs. Gaines is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Marlane Gaines of Palestine; and grandson, Jared Gaines of Palestine.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Walker, Joe Crutcher, Bob Walker, Larry York, Charlie Brown, Mike Chennault, Gene Arnold, Hugh Dublin and Charlie Griffey.
