Services for James (Jamie) Steadman, 53, of Lubbock, will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield with Wilburn Dennis officiating. Burial will be at Littlefield Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mr. Steadman died Saturday at his home.

He was born October 31, 1940, in Palestine. He moved to Littlefield in 1961. He was employed by Hammons Funeral Home until he moved to Lubbock in 1989, at which time he joined the staff of Resthaven Funeral Home.

He served in the Cavalry of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from 1963 until 1966. He was involved with Boy Scouts in Littlefield and was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ.

He married Pauline Rieger on May 18, 1987, in Palestine.

Mr. Steadman is survived by his wife; sons, Paul Steadman of Sudan and David Steadman of Lubbock; mother, Ruby White of Palestine; step-sons, Bubba Martin of Greely, Colo., Kelly Martin of New Orleans, La., and Chad Martin of Austin; step-daughter, Mindy Clark of Lubbock; brother, Jack Steadman of Garland; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Vernon Boatwright, Tommy Enox, Hubert Henry, David Roden, Gerald Rountree, Jimmy Stuart and John Bagley.
