Services for Thomas L. “Tom” Raines, 51, of Princeton and formerly of Palestine will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Horn-Harris-Crouch-Belew Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at Princeton Cemetery.

Mt. Raines died Thursday at North Texas Medical Center.  He was born January 15, 1941, in Dallas, a son of Thomas E. Raines and Bernice Kite Raines. He married Mary J. Thomas on March 27, 1970, in Vernon. He was a Baptist and was employed as a service manager at Technical Purification in McKinney

He is survived by his wife, of Princeton; his mother, Bernice Story, of Palestine; his father, of Palestine; sons, Ray Shewbirt Jr. of Princeton, Sherman W. Shewbirt of Wylie and Paul W. Shewbirt of Tyler; a daughter, Valoria J. Young of Palestine; sister, Kay Burney of Palestine; grandmother, Pearl Kite of Palestine; and 12 grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
