Services for Garland Larson, 60, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in Broyles Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Larson died Monday night at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Palestine to Raymond and Louise Cotton Larson.
Mr. Larson was a machine operator for Union Pacific Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Larson is survived by his wife, Linda Larson of Palestine; daughters, Vanessa Beeson and Angie Fox, both of Palestine, Becky Carter, Tina Parr and Kim Carter, all of Boston, Mass.; sons, Garland Ray Larson Jr. of Jacksonville, Ricky Linder of Palestine and Roy Linder of Fairfield; sisters, Ann Miles of Mabank and Lois Bridges of Lake Palestine; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neil Bridges, Chris Bridges, Buddy Hart, Johnny Largent, Gary Miles and James Fox.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home
