Lloyd Roland Graves was born October 20, 1926 in Dallas to Clarence and Lamora Graves. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1943 and from the University of Houston in 1952 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After high school he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and taught electrical classes.

He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. In 1948 he helped open Summers Electric in Houston. In 1973 he opened Lloyd Graves Electric Supply. He was passionate about his business and about his Masonic work.

During the 1960s he served as the director of the Wrecking Crew for Arabia Temple. Then he went on to serve as the president on the National Shrine Directors Association. During his life he served on numerous boards including SDA, Spring National Bank, The Lodge at Walden, and several Methodist churches. Lloyd was a member of the Woodlands United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his special angel, Joan Torrance; his sister, Louise Graves; son, Bob Graves and wife Susan; grandson, Lee Graves and wife Angela; granddaughter, Jennifer Brady; and two great-granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be John Brown, Clyde Edmonds, Joel Killingsworth, Dale Kinney, Herb Lee and Emory Peddicord. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Lloyd Graves Electric Supply.

Services will be held at Earthman’s Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10.
