Services for Claire “Wendy” Nicholson, 78, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nicholson died Wednesday at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab Center in Palestine.

She was born December 15, 1924, in Kingsville to Wendelle and Anita Covey Fields.

Mrs. Nicholson graduated from Palestine High School in 1942 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and was a retired secretary.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Wendell Nicholson.

Mrs. Nicholson is survived by son, A.M. “Nick” Nicholson of Houston; daughter, Anita Nicholson of Houston; brother, Wendell Fields Jr. of Dallas; niece, Connie Moore of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 106 E. Crawford St., Palestine, Texas, 75801.
