Clarence D. Fryar, Jr., 44, died Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 1969 following a sudden illness at his home on Route 6, Palestine. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Bailey Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carrol Fancher officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cemetery.

Mr. Fryar was a maintenance supervisor with Nucor Corporation in Grapeland. He had been an electrician with Missouri Pacific railroad for 23 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Fryar served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Fryar is survived by his wife, Betty Hamlett Fryar; son, David Fryar; daughter, Sheila Fryar; mother, Mrs. C.D. Fryar Sr.; and grandfather, A.N. Glenn, all of Palestine.

Pallbearers will be Ross Horton, Charles Linn, J.B. Bernard, J.Robert (Bob) Wylie, Nathan Boyd, Johnny Williams, Tucker Farris and Harold Gilbert.
