Services for James Patrick Ferguson, 82, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Houston, 5300 Main St., with Dr. John Wm. Lancaster officiating. Interment will be at East Hill Cemetery in Palestine.
Mr. Ferguson was born November 25, 1920 in Palestine. He died Thursday.
Mr. Ferguson served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a graduate of Texas A&M class of 1943 and the University of Texas Law School, class of 1950. Mr. Ferguson was an attorney with Exxon Corporation for 33 years (Landowner Relations). He was a member of Exxon Annuitants Club and longtime member and usher with First Presbyterian Church of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ferguson; and brothers, Jack C. Ferguson and J.H. Reagan Ferguson Jr.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by son, James P. Ferguson Jr.; daughters, Ment Ferguson Turbiville; grandsons, Charles Fletcher Turbiville II and Patrick Ferguson Turbiville; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Reagan (Evelyn Ferguson Jr. and Mrs. Bascom W. (Kelly) Bentley; five nieces and nephews, and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, 4407 Bee Cave Road, Suite 520, Austin, Texas 78746-6496 (512) 476-1234; or a charity of choice.
