Services for Erle Dickson Jr., 77 of Palestine were at 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Luckert officiating. Burial will follow in the New Addition Annex under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mr. Dickson died Wednesday at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital.

He was born January 13, 1921 in Palestine to Melvin Erle Dickson Sr. and Daphna Lorena White Dickson.

Mr. Dickson was a retired carman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He served in World Word II and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dickson is survived by his wife, Jean Davis Dickson of Palestine; a son Davis Erle Dickson of Tyler; and a sister, Shirley Patrick of Spring.

Pallbearers will be David Manley, James Miller, George Freeman, Drew Davis, Walter Johnson, Fred Miller, Clint Surles and J.B. Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers will be E.R. Patrick, Charlie Miller, Calvin Lassiter and Bobby Wells.
