Services for Paul E. Elliott of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Sam Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mr. Elliott died Friday at Cartmell Home for Aged.

He was born March 25, 1919, in Palestine, to Paul and Wilmoth Elliott.

Mr. Elliott was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. He was an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew B-26 bombers in 66 missions in Europe, which includes the D-day invasion over Germany.

Mr. Elliott was a building contractor for more than 30 years. He built homes all over Anderson and surrounding counties. He built the first all-electric home in Palestine in the 1960s.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Elliott; his two children, Ronnie and Deborah Elliott; his sister, Katherine Davis; his brother, Jack Elliott; and his two grandchildren, Helen and Langdon Elliott.

Pallbearers will be Leo Mizell, Frank George, Don Haynes, Phillip Gray, Harry Brown and Dr. Stan Skrepnek.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mardi Gras Krew.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 106 E. Crawford St. or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
