Services for Lionel V. Burnett, 74, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Herrington/Land of Memory with the Rev. Bob Webb officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Burnett died Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Anderson County Texas on February 22, 1920, to Walter S. Burnett and Addie Mozelle Harding Burnett. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982. Mr. Burnett lived in Palestine all his life and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served in the Army Medical Corps in Africa in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Brown Burnett of Palestine; daughters, Linda Oswald of LaBelle, Fla., and Sylvia Hubble of Bryan; sister, Lorraine Bolin of Frankston; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Calloway, Kenneth Calloway, Charles Oliver, Gerald Morris, William P. Wilson and Danny Glen.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
