Ada Helen Read Gentry was born January 28, 1918 in Ft. Worth, and died June 17, 1995 in Dallas. She was the daughter of Osceola and Florence Fain Read.

According to the 1936 Arc Light, Ada Helen was a member of the B Natural Club in 1935 and 1936 and served as President of that group in 1936. She participated in Debate (1935), Dramatics (1935, 1936), Debate Team (1936), Home Economics (1935) Arc Light Staff (1936) and Forum (1936).

She married Lewis Sloan Gentry March 12, 1939. There were five children born in this marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her children Gloria Gentry, Lewis Sloan Gentry Jr. and David Lewis Gentry, a sister Ruth Fain Read Meisner and brothers Edwin Hughes Read and Ray Weldon Read and William Thomas Read.

She is survived by her husband, and children Paul Sloan Gentry and Elaine Gentry.
