Services for Dora Sue Peeler, 86, of Palestine, were held at 11 a.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. Burial followed at Palestine City Cemetery under direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Peeler died Thursday (February 14, 2002) at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 23, 1915, in Palestine to the late Ewell G. and Ada Welborn Petty.
Mrs. Peeler had lived most of her life in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School in 1933. She was a member of the Lake Frankston Fishing Club.
She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Her parents were charter members of the church. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Peeler was preceded in death by her husband, James Peeler, in October 1999; and daughter, Jamie Sue.
She is survived by son, Gary B. Peeler of Washington state; daughter, Susan Williams of Longview; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jacob Raines, Keith Williams, Mason Williams, Lynn Howard, David Brock, and Willis Boedeker.
