Catherine Black, 78, of Palestine died April 16, 1994, in Palestine. Private burial was in Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
She was born April 22, 1915, in Palestine to John and Maggie Bell Parks Patrick.
Mrs. Black was a member of First Christian Church where she was a deaconess. She was a member of Harvey Woman’s Club. She was employed for many years as a teller and cashier at First National Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Groh in 1963 and A.V. (Jack) Black in 1988; her parents; her sister, Loraine Crawford in 1985; and her brother, Harry Patrick in 1970.
Mrs. Black is survived by her son, Jimmy Groh of Round Rock; sisters, Doris Marshman of Palestine, Mildred Callahan of San Angelo, and Jonibel Smith of Birmingham, Ala.
Pallbearers are Sidney Smith, Weyman Crawford, Pat Callahan, John Callahan, Roger Conant, David Rae, and C.C. Clifton.
