Services for Donnie Bell Parrish, 88, of Palestine were at 4 p.m. Thursday at Herrington Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. William Snidow officiating. Burial followed at Brushy Creek Cemetery under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parrish died Tuesday in Palestine.
She was born October 10, 1914 in the Brushy Creek community to Walter and Lera Rhodes.
Mrs. Parrish had lived in Palestine all of her life and was a member of the Brushy Creek Methodist Church and was church secretary for many years. She and her husband, Treet, ran the Brushy Creek Country Store for a number of years.
Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her husband, Treet Franklin Parrish.
She is survived by her sister, Louise Musemeeche of Houston; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nora Rhodes, Wilma and Gilmer Parrish; nephews, Bennie Parrish and wife Dana, Harold and Wayne Rhodes all of Palestine, E.W. Southard of Houston; nieces Bettye and husband Dr. John Presley of Henderson, Earlene and Don Bishop of Palestine, Jolene and Tom Berry of Panama City, Fla.; and other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were George Elrod, Shawn Parrish, Jackie Earl Bishop, Harold Rhodes, Tim Todd and Marvin Mooney.
Honorary pallbearers were Drs. Sidney Chadwell and John Presley.
