Services for Jerry Walker, 58 of Jacksonville and formerly of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Revs. Grady Higgs, Matt Idom and William Newcomb officiating. Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine.
Mr. Walker died Saturday at a Tyler hospital. He was born in Paletine on February 16, 1937 and had lived in Jacksonville since 1970. Mr. Walker was co-owner of First Choice Realty of Jacksonville and was past president of the Cherokee County Board of Realtors.
Mr. Walker was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Jacksonville Kiwanis Club and the ROTC. He was teacher of the Downtown Singles Sunday School Class in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Walker of Jacksonville; son, Ted Walker of Palmdale, CA; daughter, Jill Frawner of Ladoga, IN; mother, Ruby Risinger of Palestine; brothers, Dan Walker of San Antonio and R.D. Waker of Houston; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Oden, Woody Woods, Floyd Small, Scott Walker, Dwight Phifer, Chuck Thompson, Larry Bessler and Terry Holcomberry.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
