Funeral services for Leslie J. Reagan, 70, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Bailey Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ron McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in New Addition Cemetery.
Mr. Reagan died Wednesday (July 11, 1984) in Anderson County Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be Charles Harper, Roy Herrington, Cecil Price, Hoyt Johnston, Bob Henderson, Jim Crook, Luther Johnston, Jimmie Dickey, Carlos Creel, and Davey Moore.
Mr. Reagan was born June 16, 1914, in Palestine, a son of the late John Henry and Jessica Smith Reagan. A (1931) graduate of Palestine High School, he attended Texas A&M.
A member of the Texas State Guard, he was part of the East Texas Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, having made his solo flight at age 16.
He was a surveyor, a petroleum and mining engineer, and had served as a safety engineer in the insurance and trucking industries. He was a member of the National Safety Engineers.
After returning to Palestine to make his home in 1977, he worked part time as a safety director for the Texas Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Neeley of Palestine; three sons, Leslie J. Reagan Jr. of San Antonio, Russ Reagan of San Antonio, and Chris Reagan of Palestine; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Florene Moseley, and Mildred Moseley, both of Tucker.
