Services for Lottie Mae Chandler, 90, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. Fred Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Broyles Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Chandler died Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at her residence.
She was born August 31, 1911, in Anderson County to Eddie Chapman Huffman and Rosa Lee Wallace Huffman.
Mrs. Chandler had lived in Anderson County all her life. She was a 1931 graduate of Palestine High School. She worked at the JC Penney store for many years and later was a PBX operator with Missouri Pacific Railroad. She also worked as a dispatcher for the railroad in Palestine and San Antonio during World War II. She also did volunteer work with the special education department of the school system. She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church.
Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chandler; brother, Lawrence Huffman; and sister, Navana Ritchey.
She is survived by son, Dana Ray Chandler of Palestine; brother, Howard Huffman of Palestine; and sisters, Drucilla Darwin, Marie Mack, and Betty Jo Hoefling, all of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Rory Wall, Joe Ed Bunton, Atilio Chicas, Bob Cretsinger, Marlin Cretsinger, and Philip Cretsinger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Chicas, William Chicas, and Andy Chicas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Broyles Chapel Cemetery in care of Marion Rainey, 2809 North Jackson, Palestine, Texas.
