Services for Roy Rufus Herrington, 74 of Tow and formerly of Palestine will be today at 3 p.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery with the Rev. Alton Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mr. Herrington died Monday in Llano after a month-long illness.

He was born August 10, 1912, in the Elmwood Community, son of Rufus H. and Clara Hardman Herrington.

He was a graduate of Palestine High School and lived in Palestine over the years. He married Hazel A. Petree on May 1, 1933, in Stanton, Texas.

He was a Methodist and a retired heavy equipment mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Herrington of Tow, a son, Albert Herrington of Dallas; brothers, E. C. Herrington and N. H. Herrington, both of Palestine; sister, Mrs. Johnnie Estes of Lamesa; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers are Don Bishop, Olen Terrell, Chester Quick, George E. McIntyre, John Clay and Sam Braly.
