Age 90
Services for Lucile Keeling, 90, of Palestine, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery.
Mrs. Keeling died Friday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 4, 1911 in Tennessee Colony to James Albert and Eula May Wofford DuPuy.
Mrs. Keeling was a teacher in the Palestine Independent School District for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Palestine Eastern Star and the William Findley Chapter of the DAR.
Mrs. Keeling was preceded in death by her husband, Guy William Keeling Sr., in 1995; a sister, Jonibel Tompkins; a brother, James Albert DuPuy; grandchildren, Leeann Pierce and Robert Pierce; and a great-grandchild, Lee Michael Smith.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Joyce Carson and Marilyn Landers, both of Tyler; and a son, Guy W. Keeling Jr., of Dallas; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Keeling, Brandon Smith, Matthew Smith, Bryan Dietz, Hunter Dietz, and David Starcher.
Honorary pallbearers were Jared Starcher, John Dietz, Andrew Dietz, Vickie Williamson, Robert Williamson, Katherine Keeling, Denise Starcher and Zachary Smith.
