Graveside services for Mary Pearl Reed Pinckney are to be held, Wednesday, September 15, 2004, 10 A.M. at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Zink officiating.
Mary Pinckney was born July 23, 1912 in Palestine, Texas to Lucy Ann (Johnston) and William Perry Reed. She passed away September 11, 2004 in Llano, Texas at the age of 92.
Mary became the bride of John McPherson Pinckney, Jr in 1938 in Georgetown, Texas. She moved to Austin in the 1930’s and worked briefly for Senator Clay Cotton. She also worked for the State Health Department and the Texas Education Agency, retiring in 1968. Mary was a member and former president of the Austin Genealogical Society, and a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists and Daughters of the American Revolution. She spent many happy years researching the genealogy of her family and the family histories of many others.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband John in 1994; brothers, Freddie, Joe & Jimmy Reed; sisters, Ethel Reed and Lucile Eubanks.
Mary is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Everett Neptune of Austin; sons and daughters-in-law, John McPherson and Janice Pinckney 111 of San Antonio and Roger and Kathy Pinckney of Llano; brother, Perry Reed of Palestine; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
