Services for Harry B. Selden, Sr. 89, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jeff Cover officiating. Burial will follow in New Addition Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Selden died Friday afternoon at Dogwood Trails Advanced Health Care.

He was born in Palestine on July 18, 1907 to G. Selden and Clara Deaton Selden.

Mr. Selden was an elder in First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Men’s Bible Class, Superintendent of the Sunday School Department for many years, and a member of the Palestine Lions Club. For many years he was associated with Seldens Shade Shop.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie V. Jordan Selden of Palestine, daughter, Mrs. Harry (Sue) Sumrall of Carrollton; son, Harry Selden Jr. of Arlington; brother, Bobby Selden of Wells; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Selden, Jack Selden, Don Selden, Fred Selden, Jr., Ron Selden, Worth Andrews, Jr. and Grover Selden, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Woods, Roger Henderson, A.J. Hudson, Bob Burroughs, Maurice Rosson and Robert E. Jordan.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Youth Ministry, The Itasca Childrens Home, The Anderson County Humane Society or to a charity of donors choice.
