Funeral services for Leland H. Adams, 66 of Palestine are set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Darwin Scott officiating.  Burial will be in Palestine City Cemetery.

Mr. Adams died early Tuesday morning in a Palestine hospital following an apparent heart attack.

He was a native of Palestine, attended the University of Texas and at one time owned Adam’s Music Store in Palestine. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had entertained in Fort Worth 20 years under the stage name of “Freshman” Adams.

Survivors include two sons, William Lee Adams of Dallas and Jim Adams of Fort Worth; one brother, Willis Adams of Palestine; and one sister, Mrs. Leah Mae Carter of Palestine.
