Zilla Deborah Hairston, age 95 died in Houston, Texas January 10, 2000.  She was born in Palestine, Texas September 18, 1904, the daughter of Ed and Zilla Deborah Hudson.

She is survived by her son, Nelson Edward Hairston and wife Barbara of Houston, two grandchildren; Colin Hairston of Tampa, Florida, and Mimi Sierra of Santa Rosa, California, six great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hairston graduated Palestine High School and attended Baylor University. She was a loyal member of First Baptist Church, serving many years in the Cradle Roll Department and the Womens Missionary Union.

In 1935, she married, and is pre-deceased by M.B. Hairston, an accountant for the Wilson Oil Company of Houston.

Friends are invited to a visitation January 12 at Forest Park Lawndale, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services are Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Park Lawndale Family Chapel. Interment to follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to First Baptist of Houston Benevolent Fund.
